Revenue Cycle Administrative Assistant

Job Description Position Summary

The Revenue Cycle Administrative Assistant provides daily support to the Revenue Cycle Department of our Anesthesia practice. This role focuses on handling incoming mail, packages, faxes, and medical record requests while helping the RCM leadership team with basic administrative and document-handling tasks. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and comfortable working with computers and electronic files.

Key Responsibilities

Mail & Document Handling

  • Open and sort all incoming mail; distribute items to the correct recipients.
  • Collect and distribute incoming faxes.
  • Receive and deliver FedEx, UPS, and other packages.
  • Scan documents and save them to the appropriate electronic folders.
  • Perform remote deposits for checks received in the mail.
  • Download and distribute correspondence from the bank lockbox online portal.

Medical Record Requests

  • Respond to attorney requests for medical records following department procedures.
  • Prepare invoices for attorney record requests and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Handle medical record requests from insurance companies in a timely manner.

Administrative Support

  • Provide basic support to the Director and Associate Director of RCM with copying, faxing, scanning, and general document organization.
  • Assist the Revenue Cycle team with routine administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Comfortable using computers, scanners, and electronic file systems.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to stay organized.
  • Able to handle confidential medical information appropriately.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently once trained.
  • Prior experience in medical office, billing, or administrative work is helpful but not required.
